Harris Hill Farm was purchased in 1958 by George & Vivian Harris. The farm consists of 150 acres in New Milford, CT among the beautiful rolling hills of Litchfield County. George & Vivian operated the farm as a dairy farm, breeding and milking a herd of Registered Brown Swiss cattle. George & Vivian raised three children on the farm, George O., Susan and Janet.

In 1981George G. went to work for the National Brown Swiss Breeders Association and sold the dairy operation to Susan's future husband Ed Bailey. Ed continued to operate the dairy with a herd of Holstien cattle until 1987. Ed continues to make hay on the farm and area farmers rent the cropland to grow feed corn.

In 1991 the family started a roadside stand buisness that grew to today's pick-your-own operation.

As farms in the area disappeared, it became more and more important to George and his late wife Vivian to educate children about agriculture. Harris Hill Farm hosted Farm-City Days in 2000 and invited school groups to tour the farm each October. In 2010 Harris Hill Farm partnered with the New Milford Youth Agency to continue offering educational tours under the banner of The Vivian Harris Educational Center.

The Harris Family continues to own and operate Harris Hill Farm. George G. & Ed bale 20 acres of hay. A local farmer leases 40 acres of cropland to raise feed corn. The New Milford Youth Agency leases 3 acres to raise vegetables. Susan & Ed raise 4 acres of pumpkins for the pick your own operation.
